It's a selfie and we'll post if we want to....

Alright so I recently had a guy ask me out and we went on a date but the magic wasn't there. He is very good looking, has a good job, but as per usual I could not wait to get home to my bed to snuggle with Dolce.

After his consistent follow up for the next month (see guys it works) I began to think that maybe I should give him another shot. Maybe I was just being lame, maybe I was being too hard, maybe....ladies we all know that the 2nd  chance date is usually just as bad as the first, but maybe he's the good guy I've been looking for. To give me that extra push I pulled up his IG page (since that's what got me in the first place) and low and behold he is a man with a stick.....a selfie stick (get your mind outta the gutter;)).

Keep in mind for you out there already trying to justify the nice guy with a good job's selfie stick....these were mostly selfies.  At a bar.  The next day however the selfy videos continued. This time with the neighborhood kids....shirtless. Don't get me wrong, his body is amazing, but the poor kids who were so excited to be filmed had about 1/2 a sec of fame before he aimed the camera right back on himself and his deliciously chiseled abs.

Selfies are apart of today whether we life it or not. I appreciate looking at selfies, whether it's for makeup tips or just because the persons hot, I really don't mine selfies (for the most part). So what makes some people's selfies annoying as hell and others endearing and/or appreciated? No really....I'm asking the question and would love your feedback. So reply below or shoot me an email at Flyquai@gmail.com I wanna hear your input and promise to letcha know what I find out later this week so stay tuned.  And just so there's no judgement......here's my latest selfie on Instagram lol It's my selfie and I'll post if I want to!

Denim on denim

It doesn't matter what season it is, Denim is always a wardrobe staple. However, fall tends to be my favorite season to bring on the denim. Whether it be the newest style of denim pants or a chambray Jean jacket.  2014 has been a denim on denim year. From Kim Kardashian to Rihanna to Kate Moss. From tight cigarette style jean pants to slouchy ripped oversized jeans....you can do no wrong.

Well......Unless you're me that is.  Behold, the scarecrow look....for the love of Gaaaaaaawd, don't replicate the Scarecrow....even if I was going to a pumpkin patch it was cheesy and something I would envision Tori Spelling wearing which says it all.

You stand taller with someone on your shoulders

Comparing yourself to others gets you nowhere fast. It creates what I like to call 'The Salt Factor'.  We all have the potential to be Salty, but it's how quickly you go from being salty to motivated. It's all a choice amigos. You need to be aware and flip the switch. You can either use that fitspo on Instagram to motivate you or you can bitch about how her ass is silicone and eat a hamburger (I have done both). The later is going to take you 5 steps back.  You stand taller with someone on your shoulders. So flip the switch and use your comparisons as motivation and inspiration.  Alright; I'm going back to being bitter & cynical now ;)

Highway to the Danger Zone

Last night when a friend called and begged me to go to a Halloween party, I knew I couldn't use the old "I don't have a costume excuse".  She has seen my closet and knows I have a bedazzling addiction. After pulling old costumes and realizing I wasn't up for (or fitting in) the usual slutty attire, I took her "I need a wing woman" request to the literal level.

I have to say, this was the easiest costume I have ever worn (no spanx needed) and I have never been hit on more in my life.  Just sayin amigos, highway to the danger zone paid off last night! Thank you Kenny Loggins!!!

So if any of you need a last minute costume, do what I did.  Throw on a bomber jacket, a pair of aviators, some leggings, and motorcycle boots and don't miss out on what could be an amazing time!

You're not too nice...

I have a friend who is always saying, "I'm just too nice".  She complains about her salary, but has she asked for a raise? Nooooooo......she's "too nice".  She complains about her sister and mom being rude and nasty to her, but has she told them that their comments are abrasive and hurt her feelings? Nope, she's just way "too nice" (wah wah waaaaaaaah).

This just in.....Complaining and whining about people behind their backs is not being too nice. It's called being passive aggressive and whimpy.  Telling someone not to belittle you, etc is not rude or mean. There are endless ways to let someone know they cannot walk all over you in a professional, tactful manner.

Bottom line....whining isn't attractive, whimpy isn't nice, and neither of these traits burn calories!!! And I would much rather be known as a strong bitch than a wimpy girl.

Ok, I'm off my soap box now! Let's all have a great weekend!!! Xoxox

Mrs. America First Runner-Up Contest - Mrs Utah needs your votes!!!

McKenna Brown First Runner Up Mrs. Utah 2013
My adorable baby sis, McKenna, recently ran in the Mrs. Utah pageant.  She won first place in swim suit, evening gown and interview. She was awarded 1st runner up (which in my humble opinion seems a little odd since she won everything else).  Anyways, for the first time ever, the Mrs. America pageant has a 1st runner up contest. One 1st runner up with the most popular votes will qualify to compete at the National competition with all of Mrs. contenders this coming August.

Please go to the link below and vote for McKenna Brown! $1 = 1 vote, $20 = 20 votes, $100 = 100 votes, and well....you get the picture. All proceeds go to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research, NCADV Against Domestic Violence and MADD Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.  So for those of you who are a little slow this Monday morning, that means all votes are donations which qualify as tax deduction.

It takes two seconds....simply go to the link below, scroll down to Mrs Utah, select 'Vote for Utah' to choose how much you would like to donate, and BAM you are done.
